It truly is hard to believe that Pokemon has been around for 25 years. It’s enough to make one feel old! Here we are almost 900 Pokemon and 8 generations later and there’s no sign of it slowing down. Some were attracted to the card game, some the video game, and for others it was the anime that did it, but no matter what got you into playing with these Pocket Monsters, one thing holds true: You’re a Poke Fan for life.
The second generation is one that many hold dear to their hearts. Many appreciated the new Pokegear made available in this generation. Others enjoyed getting to know the newly added Pokemon. This generation offered up a total of 100 new Pokemon. There were new moves and even new types with this generation, too. It was a highly anticipated game, and it’s release was delayed by a couple of years because the creators wanted to make sure it was perfect.
For the time that it came out (1999) it really was one of the top video games available. It also helps that the fan base surrounding the game was massive from the beginning of the franchise, which ensures that the completion and continuation of the Pokemon Generations would not be in vain.
Just like Generation I there are 3 options when it comes to your starter Pokemon. For Pokemon’s second generation your options were Chikorita (Grass-Type), Cyndaquil (Fire-Type) and Totodile (Water-Type). We all have our own personal preference when it comes to which type is best and why. Some make their pick based on strategy, while others go by how “cute” the Pokemon is. There’s really no wrong way to go.
With that being said, just how well do you know Pokemon? Do you consider yourself a big fan? Or just a passive player? Either way take this quiz and see just how many of these Pokemon you can identify.
What are you waiting for?
