A huge event took place in September of 1998 (or possibly June of 1997 if you live in the UK). Of course we’re referring to the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (or Philosopher’s Stone in the UK) took the world by storm. It was JK Rowling’s first novel and there’s really no way possible that she knew just how famous and popular she, and the trio Harry, Ron & Hermione, would end up becoming.
Really there’s no way to express just how much of an effect Harry Potter has had on the lives of millions (billions?) of people all around the globe. It’s given some hope and others inspiration. With unforeseen plot twists and a plethora of characters, not to mention all the amazingly different character traits and personalities…it can sometimes seem like an overload of information (in a good way).
After the success of the first novel, it’s only natural that there would be more to follow. Not only was there a demand (a rallying cry of tweens and teens, really), but the story was not complete. There were still loose ends to tie up and many unanswered questions.
Here we are, over 20 years later, and we have 7 Harry Book books and 8 movies. Now, given that there’s been so many follow-ups, it can get rather difficult keeping up with just who’s who, especially when there are new characters introduced in every installment. We are, in this instance, referring to who teaches what, who took over for whom, etc.
